Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather project requirements and develop cost plans.
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
- Evaluate and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Monitor project progress and variations, assessing their impact on costs and preparing cost forecasts.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts.
- Conduct cost analysis, cost control, and cost reconciliation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate records of quantities, measurements, and cost data.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quantity surveying.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying techniques, cost estimating methods, and contractual principles.
- Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with local construction regulations and standards in Sharjah.
- Professional certifications in quantity surveying or related fields are a plus.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
